How Constantly Communicating With Clients = More WC Profits for You

December 5, 2007 – 10:54 am

Today’s business coaching lesson: Communication is not cheap. In fact, it is worth a LOT.

Whenever you have promised to complete some services for some clients, you need to make sure that you follow through as a very good communicator. This is especially true if you end up bumping into some roadblocks and obstacles.

Here’s an example: Let’s say that the weather has turned sour in your city for a week now, and between the cold, ice, and snow, it’s been either too dangerous, or simply too nasty out to get your clients work done. Your clients are frustrated, appointments are being skipped, and now your reputation is a little bit on the line.

What can you do?

Answer: Communicate.

Go to their house. Phone your clients. Email your clients. Fax your clients. Leave notes on their front doors if they’re not home. Do everything you can to communicate exactly what has happened in terms of obstacles, assure them that their business is important to you, and outline exactly what you’re going to do to ensure that they are looked after in the days/weeks immediately ahead.

Talk to them.

This continues to do wonders for my window cleaning business, and it will for yours too. And it works because it sends the message (pardon the pun) to your clients that you value their business, you value their time, and you respect their interests, and have some sympathy for their frustrations. In today’s world of outsourced customer call centers, this personal touch will make a lasting impression, and strengthen your clients resistance to offers from your competition.

And this little habit of training yourself to communicate well, becomes even more important when things go really wrong, and your clients are downright mad. For the full scoop on how to professionally manage those kind of situations, and come out of them with your reputation intact, and the client happy, check out your Window Cleaning Business Blueprint today, and learn from 3 totally different real-life examples where effectively managing a difficult situation has been a lifesaver for my window cleaning business.
