  2. So when it comes to hiring labor do you recommend using them as sub contractors where they have their own transportation and insurance or would it be more beneficial to hire them under your companys insurance (workers comp., auto etc.) and they use your equipment and vehicles?

  3. I honestly am not sure about the answer to this question.

    I love the idea of not having the overhead and headaches that come with employees, but I am leary of the independence and reduced accountability of the whole subcontractor structure.

    I currently use both, and am currently investigating the franchise model as an additional option.

  4. I subcontract for a larger company nearby, and I know that he likes our relationship. I have been very honest and trustworthy by not stealing his clients. That’s why it has worked well for both of us for 2 years.

    It’s ironic that so many small business people seem to feel that stealing and cheating is necessary to survive in the business world…
